Quack Cottage

Quack Cottage (sleeps 2-4, one double, two singles) has its own, large sunny south-facing fenced garden on the riverbank, over the old bridge from Higher North Mill. Relax in an idyllic Devon stone cottage with a spacious open-plan living/dining room, traditional in style with exposed beams and a wood burning stove.

An old bread oven (non-functioning!) in the side of thick chimney walls adds to the charm of this “chocolate box” cottage, festooned with roses, jasmine, wisteria and honeysuckle. The sitting/dining room is tiled with rugs over.

The modern fitted kitchen is in a more recent extension with a 'stable door' into the garden so you can smell the roses as you cook.

It has an undercounter fridge, electric oven and hob, washing machine, kettle, toaster and microwave as well as a seperate undercounter freezer for you to use.

The floor is tiled.

Upstairs is a double bedroom and a single bedroom both with south-facing views over the garden, river and lawns. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a wash basin and a loo.

Downstairs is a further large single bedroom with its own handbasin.  It looks out through the wisteria to the garden.

Quack has an open-stair bannister so is not suitable for mobile children under five.

The large riverside garden is for Quack Cottage guests alone and has flowering shrubs along the banks, a herbaceous border under the sitting room window, and a picnic bench. There are deckchairs too so you can follow the sun from sunrise to sunset.
